NEWS: SSU Men’s Basketball Coach Pat Fuscaldo announces retirement

Sonoma State University has announced that Men’s Basketball Coach Pat Fuscaldo announced his retirement from coaching Wednesday.

Fuscaldo has a record of 334-338 overall and 242-274 in league play.  In 2007-08, Fuscaldo became the winningest basketball coach in Sonoma State history and he is currently the dean of Men’s Basketball coaches in the CCAA.

In 2005-06, Fuscaldo led the Seawolves to their first ever California Collegiate Athletic Association championship with a 16-4 conference record. For his efforts, Fuscaldo was voted the CCAA Coach of the Year by his peers. The squad also advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the third time in the previous nine years. Individually, the ‘05-’06 Seawolves featured an All-American, two All-West Region players, four All-Conference stars, and the CCAA Player of the Year.

As a player, Fuscaldo was a two-year performer for Eastern Connecticut State College in Willimantic, Connecticut. He attended St. Thomas Moore Preparatory School in Colchester and Greenwich High School in Greenwich.
